It was this afternoon around 12pm when I walked into my office at work and heard the news about George Jones passing away. It hit me very hard and instantly made me reflect on my moments with him. I was very fortunate and honored to be asked to open for him twice back in 2007 and 2008 @ The Pepsi Roadhouse. Meeting him backstage and talking with him are moments that I will never forget. He was a sweet man in his late 70’s at the time and I was just getting my feet wet opening up for this national act. I made friends with George’s band leader Kent Goodson and Walter Ferguson. Kent and I wrote a song together called “The Dream”. Working with George was one of my biggest moments in my musical career! They will live with me for the rest of my life and I am truly grateful. My friends and family shared in those moments and for that I say thanks as well. Rest in peace George Jones. You will always be remembered…
